JoLee + Alex Matthews

We are so ecstatic to feature JoLee + Alex on our blog today! They were such an incredibly sweet couple to work with and we cannot wait to share their story along with their gorgeous photos -- continue reading!

"We met at a family friends birthday party when we were both ten. Fast forward 6 years... We had a class together in 9th grade and we became friends. We finally started dating January 31st of our 10th grade year. We broke it off for our last few years of high school... Took a 5 year break then began seeing each other again in 2014. We have been together (this time around) for 5 years on March 29th. Which is the day before our 1 year wedding Anniversary."

"We loved having people over to his house when he bought it, so he got my family, his family, and my best friend & her son to come over for dinner. We all went outside for what I thought was a corn hole tournament. I was playing opposite of my dad, and Alex was beside me. He had music playing and 'I Cross My Heart' by George Strait came on. That is our song and the song we danced to at our wedding.

I threw a beanbag and he said, 'You can do better than that,' so I turned around to smack talk.. and he was down on one Knee. (:"

"The process for planning our wedding was super easy and smooth. Madelyn with Soirées Southern Events was PERFECT. She made sure we had everything we needed. Stayed calm with my grandmother being LATE and with people showing up who didn’t RSVP. She was amazing!"

"I felt like my wedding day was perfect. I watch my video over and over again. I can’t say enough great things about Willow Creek Farm and Soirées Southern Events!"

"My favorite thing about being married is that it’s basically endless sleepovers with your best friend. I love coming home to someone who loves me and is just as happy to see me as I am him."
