Haley + Drew -- one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth couples we've had the pleasure of working with. We were so honored when they chose to have their wedding at Willow Creek Farm, and even more so when we got to see them finally tie the knot! We are beyond excited to share their story today, and we hope that they are thoroughly enjoying Married Life together!
"We met at an open mic night at Mellow Mushroom in Kennesaw! I originally went to meet up with my friends and watch their band perform, and when I saw Drew I fell head over heels. He was performing at the open mic by himself, and I’m a sucker for musicians. When he was finished playing he sat down at the table with all of my friends and that’s when I realized we had the same friends! The both of us play music and have the same taste in music, so I couldn’t help my sudden interest in him. We have a lot in common. We’ve been together for almost six years. We met in 2012 and didn’t start dating until 2014! I thought he was “the one that got away”, but life had a funny way of showing me otherwise and we will never take that for granted. We’re very lucky to have each other."
"Drew was working out of town in California, and his company flew me out one weekend to see him. When he picked me up from the airport we explored San Jose and San Francisco, and crashed a little early so we could get up and drive to Yosemite. Drew knows how much I love nature, so he planned for us to spend the day hiking around Yosemite and I was THRILLED! It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The scenery was quite literally breathtaking, I teared up in the car on the drive to our destination from the beauty of it all. Moments like that with the one you love are so humbling. We hopped out of the car and started our adventure. Drew had played it cool all morning, I had absolutely no idea that he would be proposing later that day. After hiking one of the waterfalls and walking around the park, we drove to another waterfall named Bridalveil Fall, a waterfall the resembles a veil of
a bride, also visible by many locations in the Yosemite Valley. I learned later that evening that the local Indian legend was that inhaling in the mist of the waterfall would better your chances at marriage! We made our way through the path to begin our hike up the slippery rocks, helping each other up and through different cracks and slopes. When we reached the top, I took a sit near the small pool of water that sits at the top while Drew hopped over onto a rock that overlooks the path to the top. We could see everything and everyone, the view was astonishing. Drew motioned for me to hop on the rock with him and I was terrified of slipping and falling, but I trusted him and leaped over to his side. He asked a group of tourists to take our photo, and rummaged through his backpack looking for what I thought was his phone. He said, “I can’t find it.” I asked, “Can’t find what?” Drew opens a small box with the perfect opal ring and says, “I can’t find one reason not to marry you. Will you marry me?” When I tell you this man really planned this whole proposal so perfectly, I mean it! The group of tourists had his camera and got a handful of photos of him proposing. The backdrop behind us was unbelievable. I will never forget the feeling I had during that moment. I was so grateful and appreciative of being able to see such a natural gift on this earth with the love of my life, and to leave as his fiancée?! I had no words. Everything was perfect."
"Overall our process was a breeze! I think coming to a budget and finding the venue was the hardest part. We toured a few venues that were beautiful, but they didn’t stick with us. Stepping foot onto Willow Creek Farm sealed the deal for us, which was crazy because I almost cancelled our venue tour the night before. I was starting to stress about not being able to find a venue that felt like ‘us’, and I didn’t want to settle. But from the day we signed our contract with Andrea and got to planning, everything fell into place so beautifully. We couldn’t have asked for a better team all around."
"We couldn’t have asked for a better day. I could say that over and over about everything. There was never a moment in planning where I had an exact image in my mind of what I wanted the big day to look like, and yet everything exceed my expectations. Soirées Southern Events put together the most beautiful floral arrangements, and the floral aspect was something I never put much thought into until we stepped in the floral shop! The colors of everything came together so well! We had chosen Luna’s for our catering and the pasta buffet was a hit. I was so thankful for the coordinators for making sure Drew and I were able to have a moment together following the ceremony where it was just us grabbing a bite to eat and throwing back a drink before announcing the bridal party. Our dj was a blast, everyone on the dance floor was having an awesome time. Music is a huge part of our relationship, so making sure our taste was played was a piece of cake. I could go on and on about all of the details, but everything was truly remarkable. We’re very lucky to be able to look back on our wedding day and have no complaints or negative memories."
"Drew says his favorite thing about being married is, “knowing that when I come home I’m coming home to my best friend for the rest of my life." It’s the absolute same for me as well. Through all of the good days and the bad, I know that I can work through whatever I’m going through because he shows me the potential in myself that I don’t always see. He gives me strength, he shows me unconditional love and support, and he always makes me feel on top of the world. I love how hard working he is, how passionate and dedicated he is towards his hobbies, I want him to know how proud I am and how lucky I am to share this life with him. We’re always growing and changing together for the better, and that’s the beauty of life and love; everything good and bad is temporary, but love always remains. People spend forever chasing the feeling that we feel for each other, searching for ‘the one’ to share the bond that lovers have, and to spend forever together.... there are no words to capture the feeling of it all."
